Connectivity & Accessibility – The proposed open space will conveniently serve the residential areas to its south and the schools to its north, and connected with other open spaces in the vicinity. Link the access points to the existing footbridges and road crossings. The Park enhances the streetscape along the east side of Hoi Fan Road, which shall be compatible with the treelined frontage of the schools on the north.

Design theme – The concept is about set sail. The Site is located in a relatively new residential district at the harbour, which is separated from the old district of Tai Kok Tsui by the West Kowloon Highway and the Subway Station (MTR) Tung Chun Line on its east. We aims to connect the proposed open space with the harbour.

Programme – The requirement on the overall programme to meet the target completion date in the end of 2023. I was working for Design 2 Architects to establish milestones for each work stage. We Proactively liaise with all concerned authorities to ensure timely approval of all statutory submissions.

Site constraints – The open space design shall take into consideration the existing drainage reserve, Harbour Area Treatment Scheme Tunnel Protection Zone, and Subway (MTR) protection zone. We check against official records to clearly demarcate “non-building” areas; and liaise with the concerned parties (Drainage DSD, Environmental (GEO), MTR) in fulfilling all statutory and authorities' requirements.
